The CBCRC and team have a mission to bring awareness, and much needed financial support to help fight Ependymoma and pediatric brain cancer through supporting research.
Additionally, our organization supports the local community members and families who have been affected by childhood cancer in hopes to alleviate the burden, grief and difficulties associated with the disease.
Ependymoma is a rare type of primary brain and spinal cord tumor which are found throughout the central nervous system in the supratentorial (top of the head), posterior fossa (back of the head) and spinal compartments.
Approximately 250 children and 1,100 adults are diagnosed with this disease each year.
Due to the rarity of the disease, and highly circumstantial prognosis of each case; there is a need for much more research to generate a better understanding of the disease, and to improve the outcomes and quality of life for those who have been affected.
It’s the passionate and committed family members, companies and individuals who will make a difference in the research efforts to help fight this disease. With our help, we will positively impact and strive to improve the lives of all who have been affected.
