Rich is the President of Childhood Brain Cancer Research Collaborative, responsible for strategic direction and coordination of committee and board activities. Rich works in collaboration with the rest of the board to ensure the organization meets or exceeds its goals annually.
Rich is additionally a construction executive overseeing the company’s operations throughout the North East US and is active on many associations, boards and trust funds related to the industry.
Most importantly, Rich is a father of four children who’s drive and passion in life is focused through his family. Rich and his wife Kara were faced with a brain cancer diagnosis with one of their four children in 2018, Grade II Ependymoma in the fourth ventricle. They knew they needed to help, not only for their daughter, but for the entire pediatric brain cancer community, which was the driving factor behind initiating the 501c3 to raise awareness and funding for brain cancer research and to support local families.
Alex serves as the Vice President and Treasurer of the Childhood Brain Cancer Research Collaborative, where he is responsible for executing the organization's vision and managing its finances, budget, and cash flows. Along with his career as a healthcare executive, Alex is dedicated to bringing people and the community together.
In 2017, Alex initiated the inaugural golf tournament, which became the catalyst for the development of CBCRC. With the addition of the DeLotto Family, the event has evolved into an organization with a greater purpose and even larger impact.
Kara is the Secretary of Childhood Brain Cancer Research Collaborative, responsible for fiduciary duties and coordination amongst the board and committees. Kara is an active participant in the organization’s fundraising and community outreach efforts, and is a large force behind the organization’s event success.
Kara is additionally a Speech and Language Pathologist working for multiple agencies throughout the WNY community. Kara has always had a drive and passion for helping and caring for others, and it shows in her career as a SLP. Kara’s life’s work and additional full time job is being a mother of four children, devoting her life to the safety and success of her family.
